God is One!
1 Timothy 2:5 (NKJV) “5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,”
Many passages in the Bible declare there is only one God. In fact Isaiah 44:8 (NKJV) states, “8 Do not fear, nor be afraid; Have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.’ ”” God being everywhere at once (Omnipresent) would know if there are other gods, but there simply aren’t any.
Yet we see God identified as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
God the Father:
2 Peter 1:17 (NKJV) “17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.””
God the Son:
Hebrews 1:8 (NKJV) “8 But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.”
John 1:1–2 (NKJV) “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.” John 1:14 (NKJV) “14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
God the Holy Spirit:
Acts 5:3–4 (NKJV) “3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.””
While we see God manifested in Three Persons, not only are they One God, they are in perfect harmony with each other. This is further demonstrated at the Baptism of Jesus where God the Son (Jesus) is baptized, God the Father speaks from heaven that He is pleased with Jesus and the Holy Spirit descending on Jesus like a dove.
Perhaps this is the best illustration of the Trinity that exists today.
Truly our God is 3 in 1.
